Wow. What a wonderful way to welcome a weekend (albeit an awful alliteration) for the Washington Capitals. A hat trick (maybe? maybe not?) for defenseman Dennis Wideman. Four power play goals for the team. Two blocked shots by Alex Ovechkin (and an attempted third block on the same shift). Luck in net when the Toronto Maple Leafs forward Phil Kessel couldn’t decide how he wanted to score an easy lay up with the puck sitting 6 inches in front of a wide open net and no Washington Capital within several feet of him. And if you look through my photos below, you’ll see that coach Dale Hunter did a Fonzie impersonation. Just, “Wow, man, kick ass rock and roll.” (Note: The link is to a song from my younger days that has nothing to do with anything Capitals or hockey related. I just love the line and wanted the excuse.)
